Liz Alig is proud to incorporate a variety of traditional handwoven and sustainable textiles into our collections. Many rural villages have a rich history of traditional textile production. Designing collections with these textiles not only gives us the opportunity to give more women meaningful work, but it helps preserve some of these techniques that are being forgotten as many fabrics are being mass produced. Some of our favorites are batik printing, hand block printing, and a variety of hand loomed textiles.
Other sustainable fibers we source locally are pima cotton and baby alpaca from Bolivia, naturally dyed wool from Nepal, and wool from Portugal.
