- DESIGN PROCESS
Our goal at Liz Alig is to create clothing that is effortless - the kind of dress you can just throw on and wear all day. Sweaters that are so comfortable you can live in...clothing that is unique, easy to layer, and functional (which is why we love pockets!).
We combine this kind of clothing with a beautiful story of ethical production. We want to be proud of the entire process from fiber to sewing which is why we love recycling, organic cotton, and handwoven textiles.
Our Spring and Fall collections are designed in a small studio outside of Indianapolis incorporating these unique textiles and fabrics in easy to wear styles.
Next we partner with over ten fair trade cooperatives and workshops to produce the clothing. Each of these groups has their own mission of empowering their community. For example, the group we work with in El Salvador has a training program for single mothers, so they are able to get a job and provide for themselves.
The clothing that these women make is beautiful but we love even more the stories of the women who were able pay for a University education for themselves (when they had not even graduated high school), or pay for expensive surgeries, or send their children to schools that will give their family a better life.
Thank you for helping make these stories possible by choosing to buy ethicaly clothing!
