The Guide to Looking Like a Star

Posted by Dolores Martinez on

It’s that time of year once more where the weather is too hot and it’s the perfect excuse to shop for new clothes. Look no further! Liz Alig has a great selection of clothing that you would love. We have put together three celebrities look alike outfits, but let me tell you a little secret, you will look even better because Liz Alig’s clothing is made from eco- friendly material and the brand is a great supporter of fair trade. We are providing women in third world countries with jobs and opportunities to be able to better provide for their families.

These looks are very versatile; you can wear them on a casual night out with friends or to an elegant dinner. You can even make it your own look by adding accent pieces like a purse, jewelry or your favorite lip stick!

Emma Stone is showing her petite figure in a cute neutral color pencil skirt as is our model in our Felicity Pencil Skirt. This skirt is made from recycled t-shirts which makes it more comfortable if you want to wear it to a more casual event, maybe to an outdoor party or a picnic. The length on it and the way it fits makes it easy to transform this skirt into a dressy skirt as well but with a much more comfortable feel. We have them in neutral colors as well as shades of blues which are great for pairing with other colors or patterns. Our skirt was sewn by our fair trade partner, Mi Esperanza, a non-profit organization in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, that empowers women to gain the skills to have a living income by teaching women in poverty technical skills. Some of the women who have graduated from this program sewed this skirt.

Joan Smalls displayed her long legs in this grey romper, which happen to look like our Izzy romper. You can dress this up like Joan did or wear it in a more casual way. This product was made by women entrepreneurs as part of a small worker owned cooperative in Bolivia called K'anchay. The cooperative was created in 2004, and has 10 active member-owners. Solidarity Bridge of Greenola, has provided an interest-free startup loan for this project, which was used for sewing machines, equipment and a guarantee deposit for the work space.

The Kardashians are a big hit this year, why not wear an outfit inspired by them, after all Khloe looks marvelous in this dress. Our Misha dress can help you look elegant for a special nigh out. This garment was made by Garrobos in El Salvador.Garrobo's purpose in to empower the underprivileged through employment focusing on single mothers and young women. To preserve and create new jobs and build entrepreneurial/managerial capacity and/or add to the skill sets of those who are directly involved in the project. They also seek to produce quality and well-designed articles and preserve artisanship in communities especially when it is a major source of employment while using local raw materials and natural resources whenever possible and reducing waste in the garment manufacturing industry.
