Liz Alig Fall Look in Copenhagen
It is still amazing to me that people I don't even know or have never met are such huge supporters of Liz Alig! I am so thankful for all the loyal customers, brand reps, interns, stores, producers and friends who believe strongly in fair trade and sustainable fashion and make our mission their own - I would not still be doing this with out them!
Our friend in Copenhagen recently sent me these images of her in Liz Alig with the note, "I have a hope, or a vision, that Liz Alig could spread in the future to Europe, with a department here too, creating a movement where people want to spend on awesome sustainable clothing."
We could not agree more! This brings me to some really exciting news...soon you will be able to purchase Liz Alig from an online boutique in Prague, which means cheaper shipping for all our European friends!
Thanks for your support whatever corner of the world you find yourself!

Lisbeth Cardigan - This garment is made from 100% fair trade and GOTS certified organic cotton that was grown in India. Then it is sewn by one of the very first fair trade factories in Southern India.
Tie Skirt - Ever wonder what happens to your 1980's prom dress that you gave to Goodwill? Chances are no one at Goodwill wanted it, so it was shipped to Eastern Africa to be sold there. The selling of our unwanted clothing in Ghana is an 80 million dollar a year industry! This skirt was made from button down shirts gathered from these markets. Because it is made from recycled materials it will be 100% unique! Choose your favorite shade above and we will select a skirt in the same Spirit as the color chosen. Next it is sewn by a group of women entrepreneurs on the coast of Ghana - each has their own tailoring business! We are happy to support their work.
Pieced Leggings - Made from 100% recycled t-shirts...that right this was constructed from our unwanted t-shirts that were shipped to Honduras. They are bought at local markets there - washed - new patterns are cut - and new garments are sewn. In this small way we are helping reduce the huge textile waste our clothing creates. Also, we really love the soft and thicker feel these textiles have next to typical jersey. That’s not even the coolest part! These garments are sewn by an NGO in Honduras that provides free education to women living in poverty, so that they can go on to get jobs and provide for their families.
Checkered Cuff - Handmade in Delhi, India from brass by a small artisan group.
Jenelle Dress - Made from 100% Pima Cotton - super soft, high quality cotton perfect for Fall weather! It is sewn by a small cooperative in the hills of Cochabamba, Bolivia giving employment to women entrepreneurs
Legwarmers - These legwarmers begins as hand spun Nepali wool that is naturally dyed. I know what you are thinking, "Wool is itchy!" This is the warmest thing you will put on your body and is a surprisingly soft wool texture. After the yarn is the right color, it is hand knit by a pioneer fair trade organization in Kathmandu, Nepal. Purchase of this products helps support their FREE primary school and technical training programs for those living in poverty in surrounding villages. The other really cool thing about this program is once graduates learn how to knit, they are given patterns and yarn to work from their own home - so they are able to care for their family and children. After the earthquake this Summer this group needs our support now more than ever! A portion of sales from these legwarmers will go directly to re-build artisan homes outside of Kathmandu.
Calabash Earrings - All earrings are made from recycled calabash or coconut shells. The shape and color may vary slightly from the color shown because of the nature of the materials. Produced by a fair trade cooperative Nou Hope in the Central Plateau of Haiti
