| Because everything is made from recycled materials, are all your products one of a kind?
No, many styles by Liz Alig are made from recycled t-shirts which are upcycled into a specific silhouette. Because these product is most likely constructed from a variety of t-shirts that are pieced into the new silhouette, shades may vary from the sample shown, but the garment colors and styles will be the same.
If it is a one of a kind pieces, how do I know what the product I am going to get will look like?
You may choose from a variety of color palettes like warm colors or cool colors, and we will hand pick fabrics that are as close the example chosen as possible.
What if I do not like the exact colors or prints that are selected from the silhouette chosen?
You may return the product within 30 days of purchase with proof of purchase. If you would like to specify different colors please let us know and we will ship you another product in different textiles. There will be a second shipping charge added if you wish to have another product shipped, but no restocking fee is charged.
What does recycled fabric mean?
Recycled fabric means that all products by Liz Alig are made out of a previous garment or dead stock fabric. The garment is deconstructed and then pieced back together into the specific Liz Alig silhouette.
Where do you get your fabrics?
Liz Alig sources fabric from second hand clothing stores like Goodwill. While working with fair trade producers around the globe, we also source second hand clothing that has been shipped to these countries were we work. In this way it lessens the amount of travel that the textiles take before turning into a new garment.
Why use recycled fabrics?
Liz Alig began using recycled fabrics because of our fair trade standards, we wanted to use fair trade fabrics as well. The lack of fair trade fabrics brought us to use recycled materials and by doing this we not only ensure that the production process is ethical but in a small way diminish textile waste.
What does fair trade mean?
Fair trade means that we not only pay the people that make Liz Alig products well, but we also give back 10% of our profits to their communities. For Liz Alig, fair trade means that we partner with organizations to make our products who work with small women owned business, teach technical skills to low income communities, and encourage the economic growth of developing countries. |
